Gonçalo Martins nasceu a 1976 na cidade do Porto e vive em Caminha. É Licenciado em Artes Plásticas. Está representado a nível nacional e internacional em colecções privadas e arte pública.
No seu currículo constam bienais, exposições e prémios a nível nacional. É um artista que explora ao longo do seu percurso, uma diversidade de técnicas e materiais ligados entre si, no entanto hoje em dia procura na madeira (matter), a sua maior expressão.
A sua vontade da potência de afirmação da vida humana, exprime a sua atuação escultórica e o seu cunho estético, revelando sempre muita irreverência, ironia e imprevisibilidade.

Gonçalo Martins was born in 1976 in the city of Porto and lives in Caminha. He has a degree in Fine Arts. He is represented nationally and internationally in private collections and public art.
His curriculum includes biennials, exhibitions and awards at national level. He is an artist who explores, throughout his career, a diversity of techniques and materials linked to each other, however nowadays he looks for his greatest expression in wood (matter).
His desire for the power of affirmation of human life, expresses his sculptural performance and his aesthetic nature, always revealing a lot of irreverence, irony and unpredictability.
