Mão de Fogo’s Heritage & Culture services are the result of nearly three decades of material knowledge built by our foundry team, a trusted network of specialised suppliers and external professionals.

From our atelier in Portugal, set in a calm rural environment, we support cultural projects across Europe and internationally, with deep respect for the time of each work and the place where it belongs.

For almost thirty years, Mão de Fogo has played an active role in the creation and preservation of artistic heritage. Our path began in artistic foundry practice and evolved into a continuous dialogue between past and present, technique and sensitivity, matter and memory.

We work closely with artists, museums, municipalities and cultural institutions, sharing a common commitment: to preserve the integrity of artworks and, when needed, restore legibility, stability and material dignity without erasing the marks of time that are part of their story.

Each restored sculpture, each exhibition assembled and each artwork transported with precision carries its own narrative. These are stories of place, identity and community, requiring careful decisions grounded in technical knowledge and historical awareness.

We provide specialised services in the restoration and conservation of sculptures and art objects in bronze, cast iron, aluminium and other metals. This work is complemented by professional crating, secure transport, installation and exhibition support, ensuring a continuous chain of care.

We also develop public art projects and urban interventions, coordinating production, logistics and installation. Whenever necessary, we rely on technical documentation, photographic surveys and measurement or 3D tools to support diagnosis, reproduction of elements and quality control.

Our experience extends beyond Portugal. We have collaborated on international projects such as “Sentido y Sostenibilidad” (Basque Country, 2012), producing contemporary artworks integrated into the landscape. From Montemor‑o‑Novo to the world, we maintain the same craft care and attention to detail, even in demanding contexts.
