Mandibula

[17]

About the Project:

Mandíbula is a small-scale sculpture by João Biscainho, conceived as a compact work in which form and materiality play a central role in its artistic expression.

Mão de Fogo was responsible for the technical execution of the copper casting process, transforming the original model into a durable metal sculpture while preserving the formal characteristics defined by the artist. The work included casting preparation, metal pouring, finishing, and final surface treatment.

Despite its modest scale, the project required rigorous control throughout every stage of production to ensure the accurate reproduction of details and the quality of the final finish. The use of copper gave the piece a distinctive material presence, enhancing the sculptural qualities of the work.

This project highlights Mão de Fogo’s ability to undertake small-scale artistic casting projects while maintaining the same standards of technical precision and attention to detail applied to larger works.
