Sea Wolf

Sea Wolf is a sculpture by Canadian artist Luke Marston, developed from an original wooden sculpture carved by the artist in Canada. The project was promoted by the Embassy of Canada in Portugal as part of an initiative to promote and showcase Canadian art and culture.

Mão de Fogo was responsible for reproducing the work in bronze, ensuring the faithful translation of the original sculpture into a permanent material suitable for long-term display. The process began with the artist’s carved wooden original, carefully preserving its forms, textures, and distinctive details.

The project involved all stages of mould making, bronze casting, welding, chasing, and final finishing, ensuring that the expressive qualities of the original work were maintained throughout the production process. Particular attention was given to reproducing the textures of the wood, preserving the sculptural character defined by the artist.

This project demonstrates Mão de Fogo’s experience in reproducing sculptures from originals created in organic materials, transforming unique works into durable bronze pieces without compromising the artistic identity of the original creation.
